An opportunity has arisen to purchase one of the leading producers of grafted grapevines in New Zealand.
The business is Stanmore Farm Ltd and the nursery is one of a limited number of producers growing premium certified grapevines under the NZ Winegrowers Grafted Grapevine Standard.
Based on the sunny Kapiti Coast, the business is situated on 20ha of north west facing slope at the foot of the Tararua Ranges where the climate and deep silt loam, free draining soils and 80m deep bore make perfect growing conditions.
Well recognised in the industry, Stanmore Farms first rootstock was planted in 1989 and since then their vines have been at the fore front of the wine industry the length and breadth of the country. If you love Central Otago Pinot Noir then chances are the grapevines have come from Stanmore Farm.
They also have two new exclusive varieties of drought resistant rootstock which are also proving very popular.
In addition to the grapevine nursery, there is also the opportunity to build on the existing extensive blackberry production and introduce other lines that may be of interest.
Due to an unforeseen change in personal circumstances, this very successful multi million-dollar company is looking to sell the entire nursery business with a 20-year lease on the land (with rights of renewal) plus all the root stock and components that make the business what it is including one of the most committed and experienced management and production teams in the industry.
The purchaser will be a person or company with a management / sales focus and an interest in New Zealands horticultural sector plus the vision to take advantage of the growth opportunities within the existing product lines and through a company that is a leader in its field.
The Business is being offered for sale with offers over $1.5m + GST (if any) based on a recent valuation, plus SAV. As these are seasonable businesses the stock figures vary dependent upon the time of year.
