CBRE New Zealand has won the title of World’s Best Property Consultancy at the international property awards presented in Dubai.

“This award demonstrates the high standards to which Kiwi businesses are performing on the global stage,” says Brent McGregor, CBRE’s senior managing director New Zealand.

“We thought that winning the Best Property Consultancy for New Zealand and the Best Property Consultancy for the Asia Pacific region were outstanding achievements, but to win the world-wide award is phenomenal and ends our hugely successful year on a high note.”

The award is the culmination of a process that began when CBRE New Zealand was named Best Consultancy in New Zealand earlier this year.

Country winners then went forward into an Asia Pacific judging process and, on May 9, CBRE NZ was recognised as the Best Property Consultancy in Asia Pacific at the Asia Pacific International Property Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The win qualified CBRE New Zealand for entry into the worldwide awards where the agency was pitted against other regional winners from Europe, UK, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East to decide the World’s Best Property Consultancy.

The event organisers said CBRE New Zealand’s submission exceeded the criteria set, based on a company overview, marketing collateral, business services offered and the innovation of the company on a local level.

McGregor says winning the world award will deliver global exposure for CBRE New Zealand and will support his office’s international market campaigns as well as attracting off-shore investment into the country.

“It has been proven that a direct result of winning the award is the generation of a significant increase in sales and business. Previous ward winners have also reported higher brand awareness and heightened staff morale, so we are expecting a number of positive flow-on effects from taking out the world title.

McGregor says the win demonstrates the value in global businesses having a strong local touch in their approach to services; “The property landscape in New Zealand is a unique one with its own yields and circumstances like the new regulatory changes due to the seismic strengthening of buildings, lack of land in Auckland and the diverse nature of the country and its people.”

The New Zealand CBRE office looks to go beyond the old adage of “think global, act local,” he says. “Our team has its roots in New Zealand and strives to employ insight and foresight into how the local market acts and responds, and how to best present and position properties for sale.”

McGregor says the award places CBRE New Zealand among a number of high flying Kiwi businesses that are dominating on the world stage. “Export businesses, Cloud software firms, winners of international awards in the arts and professional service companies like ourselves are bringing their A-game to an increasingly competitive global environment.

“Our professionals work hard every day to deliver the best real estate services to our clients, and the international accolades we have received are a testament to their efforts. It is a tremendous feather in our cap to be officially recognised as the best property consultancy internationally.”
