JLL is supporting the sponsorship of the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series 2015-16, a charitable Kiwi organisation that runs a series of open water swimming events across New Zealand.
Nick Hargreaves, managing director for JLL New Zealand, says the open water swims motivate thousands of Kiwis to challenge themselves and make positive changes to their health and lifestyles.
“We want to encourage more Kiwis of all ages to get into the ocean, get fit and healthy, and take up a new challenge, as well as developing a healthy and active staff culture within our own organisation,” Hargreaves says.
The 10th anniversary of the Ocean Swim Series starts on November 28 and runs through to April 2, 2016 with events taking place in Paihia, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Rotorua, Tauranga and the North Shore - showcasing the country’s most popular beaches and waterfront locations.
The Ocean Swim Series is held in partnership with Surf Life Saving NZ with the events having raised over $200,000 for that charity organisation.
Hargreaves says JLL’s sponsorship is part of an ongoing commitment to New Zealand communities and helps to create “a welcoming workplace” for the agency’s staff.
“Today’s business environment is about getting away from computers, being active, engaging and getting out there,” he says.
“We understand the overwhelming sense of achievement that is experienced by the thousands of participants in these events. So, we will be providing swimmers in the nationwide open water events with a text message the instant they cross the finish line. This will detail the results and the length of their swim when previously participants would have had to wait until after the event to view their results online.”
